A Story Told
“I’ve really liked getting to know each person I’ve met with. The Lord has helped me to see that each person has a story and that story should be told. It really helped stretch me out of my box to meet with new people and share the ways the Lord is working within their lives. God can use anyone, right where they are, and Anthologies allowed me to hear some of those stories.”
Apex Anthologies exists to share God’s narrative through our individual stories. It allows the body of Apex to see the dynamic ways Jesus is at work within His sons and daughters right here, right now, in the Dayton area. Anthologies has also created an incredible place for creatives to gather and give glory to our King through the very gifts He has bestowed us with.
Jacqueline Brown is no exception to this. Jacqueline recently completed her first six month commitment to Apex Anthologies as a Creative Content Contributor. When you walk in to Jacqueline’s home she shares with her husband, you can see that creativity and design is something that thrums easily within her. Jacqueline graduated from Miami with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 2011, but long before college education was being obtained, she was exercising her creative muscles. She’s long kept journals and has always loved writing. Once she graduated from college and was working in the public school system, she realized she needed an outlet that allowed her to create more freely. “In the years between graduating and not being in my own classroom, the Lord really provided opportunities for me to create and focus that energy well,” she says. “I was able to plan our wedding and then began my own fashion blog.” Jacqueline spent time putting together outfits and photographing those outfits and sharing them on her blog. More recently, she joined forces with a fellow creative; together, they share space and ideas and blog about both fashion and design. The Lord allowed Jacqueline the space to create and use her passion for creating in various ways over the last few years. And then she found out about Apex Anthologies.
“I’ve really liked getting to know each person I’ve met with. The Lord has helped me to see that each person has a story and that story should be told. It really helped stretch me out of my box to meet with new people and share the ways the Lord is working within their lives. God can use anyone, right where they are, and Anthologies allowed me to hear some of those stories.” As a creative content contributor for Anthologies, you are asked to write your testimony, to potentially be shared on the blog, as your first assignment. Jacqueline felt that, overall, it was good to share this part of her story, but that it was a push to share some of the dark places. “It was completely worth pushing through those dark places, though, to know that sharing my story could potentially touch someone else’s life,” she says.
Jacqueline is currently a second grade teacher at Lakota Schools and is enjoying having her own classroom, but the desire to create is still within her and thriving. “Anthologies gave me the space to use the gifts given to me by God to help share His good news. My creativity is a gift from the Lord and I was so excited to be able to share that with the body of Apex.”
